My Story

Desiree Jane Currier, a first generation Filipino American artist, grew up in Long Island, New York, before making Arizona her home in 2006. Raised by a secret artist and psychiatrist mom, and Mr. Fix-it-All and nurse dad, Desiree figured out how to make art out of supplies she came across at home and in nature, with her imagination.

Drawing inspiration from nostalgic moments and the love of family and friends scattered nationwide, she expertly crafts soft pastel landscapes that truly speak to the heart.

Nestled in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, Desiree lives with her number one fan, loving husband, Dillon, and her sons, Rocky and Wilder. She joyfully pours her soul into every piece she creates. For Desiree, art isn't just a passion—it's a form of meditation and healing that helped her navigate the challenges of postpartum depression while embracing the role of a devoted stay-at-home mom. She found herself as a self-taught artist after her first born, Rocky. After her second son was born, Wilder, she learned the magic of soft pastel from well known soft pastel artist, Valerie Mckeehan. Desiree is stay at home mom and an artist during naptime, her time to get lost in the world of soft pastel.

Desiree got her artsy talent from her mom! Her mom loved sketching portraits of her kids when Desiree was growing up. Now, she shares her nurturing love and boundless creativity with her grandkids.

He may call himself Desiree’s manager, but to her, he's more than that - he's her dad. His unwavering belief in Desiree’s art and her path fills her with confidence and strength to pursue her dreams.

Desiree’s number one fan will always be her loving husband, Dillon. He not only supports and motivates her to reach for the stars in her art journey, but also sees beauty in every piece of art, even when she doubts it. Dillon's unwavering belief in Desiree led to him enrolling her in her very first soft pastel class, demonstrating his commitment to my growth and success. His remarkable positivity shines through in everything he does, making him a constant source of inspiration and encouragement in Desiree’s life. “I married a goldendoodle.”
